  • Children's Room - Graphite or Coloured Pencil Drawings

I specialise in animal and nature themed pieces that are perfect for your little one’s room. Baby animals and flower crowns are a popular choice, but of course there are endless options. These drawings are available in either A4 or A3 size.

Note: I use my own reference photos to create these pieces, but you may like to provide an example to help explain your idea.

Reference Photo Guidelines

Choosing the best reference photos for your pet portrait is key to achieving the best possible outcome for your artwork. Here are some guidelines for the most effective photo:

1) Use natural, even lighting.

Avoid heavy shadows or bright contrasts where possible as this can lose important detail.

2) Use the highest quality camera you have access to.

The more detail that can be seen within the image the better.

3) Close-up photos taken at eye level are generally very effective.

A photo taken close to your pet will provide more detail than one that is zoomed in.

4) Ensure that your pets full face is visible including the ears and the neck/chest area.

5) If you would like a full body portrait, ensure the entire body is visible including the feet and tail.

Including a second image that provides a close-up of your pets face is also helpful to ensure enough detail is captured, as this will still be the most important part of the portrait.

6) Where possible, avoid editing the photo or using any filters.

If any editing is needed, I will do this according to what is best for the outcome of the artwork.

Low Quality Photos

If you only have access to low quality photos, for example perhaps they are older photos of a pet that has passed, please feel free to contact me to discuss your options. There are strategies I can use to create a beautiful artwork; however, this tends to be a more difficult and time-consuming process, and this will need to be reflected in the price of the piece. In this situation it is also helpful to provide multiple photos that I can reference to piece together additional details.
